MSC 860

The International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) Circular 860 "Guidelines for the Approval of Offshore Containers Handled in Open Seas" is probably best described as an "umbrella" document for other standards etc covering offshore containers.

Whilst much of the text in the Circular is also included in DNV2.7-1 and EN12079 it is recommended that all companies and individuals concerned with Offshore Containers are familiar with the contents of the Circular.

MSC Circular 860 replaced an earlier document MSC/Circular 613 and is available from:
