Australian Offshore Support Vessel Code of Safe Working Practice (AMSA) The Australian Offshore Support Vessel Code of Safe Working Practice was originally developed by Australian Offshore Services (AOS) and later published in 1997 by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) . The document is intended for use by operators, managers & superintendents of offshore installations, Masters and owners of offshore support vessels, so as to avoid or reduce to a minimum the hazards, which affect offshore vessels in their daily interface with offshore & onshore installations. Weir OCI also recommends that the document be reviewed by offshore crane operators and any persons responsible for or, engaged in the loading and unloading of supply vessels and/or preparation of loads. There is quite a bit of information in regard to expectations from the supply vessel industry in regard to containers and lifting management in general. Sections 9.2.1, 9.3 & 10 are particularly relevant. |
