New Pump Supply & Maintenance Contract from Severn Trent Water

Weir Services Division – Europe is delighted to announce that we have now secured the pump supply and maintenance contract at Severn Trent Water. This contract was originally awarded in 2001, with the hard work and determination of both Darren Harris – Service Centre Manager / Jim McNaught - Technical Sales Engineer, and the whole Warwick team, this contract was extended 3 more years until 2010.

Weir Services – Europe now supply all of Severn Trent’s requirements for potable water pumps above 22kw and sewage pumps above 200mm suction with provision of 24 hour, 365 days per annum pump maintenance and repair.  This also includes energy efficient coatings.

The team’s customer focus, working together and self-determination enabled the award of the Framework contract.  Our engineering excellence was leveraged and the contract is designed to reduce the customer’s total cost of pump ownership in terms of capital acquisition and installation cost, operating cost and the cost repair & maintenance.

The supply of surface pumps including the optimum selection process, provision of energy best whole life cost, string testing of pumps, the supply of spares, the provision of technical support including reviewing STW specifications.  Weir also provides Severn Trent with our engineering excellence; this allows them to have all the advice they need. Our assistance is lent with matters on installation, warranty and consultation.

Quote by customer – Larry Beard - Purchasing Director “Severn Trent is eager to minimise wasted effort and maximising added value by all parties. We were looking for a contractor that has common goals in reducing overall costs whilst delivering the capital programme and high levels of service to Severn Trent Consumers.”  The company that they felt could meet all of the above needs was Weir Services – Europe.
